Pioneer Justice Court

The Pioneer Justice Court is located in Pinal County off Hunt Highway. Pioneer Justice Court includes parts of Florence and Queen Creek, and a sliver of State Route 79.

The Pioneer Justice Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. This means that it only handles civil traffic tickets, misdemeanor criminal charges, and civil matters where the amount at issue is under $10,000.00. Pioneer does not deal with felony criminal charges. Civil and misdemeanor tickets issued by the PInal County Sheriff’s Office, Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS, or highway patrol), or Arizona Department of Transportation will wind up in Pioneer if the violation occurred within Pioneer’s jurisdiction.

A protective order can also be obtained at the Pioneer Justice Court

Below you can see Pioneer’s precinct, or jurisdiction, in brown. Pioneer Justice Court is Precinct 1 in Pinal County.

Pioneer Justice Court does not include any major highways, so although we see charges like excessive speed in this court, we do not see as many traffic violations from this court as we do others.

Court Notes

In our experience, Pioneer Justice Court will NOT permit telephonic appearances. This can often place a defendant who lives out of state in a difficult position. The court will however allow an attorney to appear for a defendant at non-evidentiary hearings like pretrial conferences.
